The earliest news of Migliano begin before the year 1000. In the middle eve Fundus Aemilianus comprised an ancient little church and a few houses with good fields. Around the XVth and the XVIth century it grew in importance when for various reasons the parish was moved from Ceserana to Migliano. The displacement in such period of the parish's seat, caused many and much problems and bad feelings; a difficult agreement was finally reached with a rigid division of the religious services amongst the churches of Migliano, Ceserana and La Villa. Such custom has lasted for centuries, till a few years ago. In 1575 the Church obtained the privilege of the Babtisimal font. In 1678 the bell tower was built and in 1772 the church was expanded. The church is entitled to the archangel Saint Michael. Migliano has probably been the most damaged village in the municipality during the disastrous 1920 earthquake. Even during the 2012 seismic event the church suffered damages remaining unusable for a long while. In our days, Migliano is seat to both the Parish and the Municipality of Fosciandora.
On 14 June 1919 a marble monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the 1915-18 war was inaugurated next to the Church of Migliano. The monument was built on the initiative of the parish priest Don Chiari at the expense of the population of the Parish of Migliano. This seems to be the first monument made in the Province dedicated to the fallen soldiers of World War I.
