The project

The idea of creating a network of organised trails in the Fosciandora area matured over time, on the one hand because of the positive feedback from those who walked along them for various reasons, such as customers of the various agritourisms found there, but also because of the success of some guided excursions organised in the past by environmental guides and local associations.

The presence of a monument such as the Rocca di Ceserana with the Romanesque church of St. Andrew located within, the awareness of a past history, made up of troubled borders and very interesting episodes, far more important than the current size of the municipality would lead one to imagine, and finally the desire to enhance aspects of rural life and popular tradition, offered a thread on which it was worth building a project.

And so we set to work, the municipal administration with some enthusiasts, drawing up routes, defined above as ‘organised’, because they follow a historical-cultural-naturalistic thread; at the same time, the idea of educational posters matured, because walking along a path, if it allows an immersion of knowledge in the history and characteristics of that territory, becomes a richer and more satisfying experience.

We started with a few trails and now, year after year, subject to available resources, we are halfway through the task, which we hope will be further developed in the coming years.

..... and lacking a website covering the trail network .... and now on the net we are!
